WHO WE ARE

Mary Jo Haselhorst is a Retirement Plan Consultant for Financial Life Advisors. She has worked in the group retirement plan industry since 2007.  Mary Jo holds an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation through the Center for Fiduciary Excellence – the leader in fiduciary training – providing guidance to employers on best practices of their fiduciary responsibilities in managing their corporate retirement plan.

Mary Jo’s responsibilities include managing client and plan participant relationships through investment and governance meetings with the employer; education sessions with employees; as well as, facilitating retirement plan providers with the primary goal of acting in the best interest of all plan participants.

Experience and Expertise

Mary Jo graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.  She began working as a Computer Scientist designing missile software for the U.S. Navy/Department of Defense.  In the following 15 years, she launched and managed her own start-up healthcare practice management consulting firm, resulting in receiving the 2002 Small Business Administration Home-Based Business Advocate of the Year award.  She was also a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and served previously as Secretary in the San Antonio Chapter.  For the last 13 years prior to joining Financial Life Advisors, Mary Jo worked in her current passion as a retirement plan specialist.

Meet Mary Jo

Mary Jo and her husband are supporters of a San Antonio-based Equine Facilitated Therapy non-profit program.  Mary Jo enjoys cycling, running, wakeboarding, and spending time with family.
